We will be continuing with our annual school trip to Chester Zoo on Friday 26 June as planned.

Although some weather forecasts are predicting cooler temperatures and light rain, it is still expected to be very warm. Therefore, we will not be spending as much time at the zoo as originally planned and will be returning to school earlier.

As a result, pupils will be back at school by the end of the normal school day at 3:15pm, not between 4:00pm and 4:30pm as stated in the original letter. We have contacted Chester Zoo, and they have reassured us that there are plenty of shaded areas and water refill stations available throughout the site. Please could we remind you to send pupils in their own clothes for the trip, along with:

• A packed lunch (unless one has been ordered through the school)
• Snacks
• A water bottle (essential)

Please also ensure that pupils wear suitable, comfortable footwear and light clothing, and bring sun cream and a hat.

As a federation, we will continue to follow Welsh Government guidance and WCBC advice in supporting our learners and staff during this period of extreme weather. The wellbeing and safety of everyone in our school community remains our highest priority.

Mi fyddwn yn parhau i fynd ar ein trip ysgol flynyddol i Sw Gaer ddydd Gwener 26/6 fel y cynlluniwyd. Er bod rhai rhagolygon tywydd yn rhagweld y bydd ychydig yn oerach a bydd gennym law ysgafn ar adegau, mae’n dal i addo bod yn gynnes felly ni fyddwn yn treulio cymaint o amser yno a gynlluniwyd, mi fyddwn yn dod yn ôl i’r ysgol ychydig yn gynharach.

Felly mi fydd y plant yn ôl yn yr ysgol erbyn diwedd y dydd (3.15yp) NID 4/4.30yp fel y cynlluniwyd yn wreiddiol. Rydym wedi cysylltu â Sŵ Caer ac maen nhw wedi ein sicrhau bod digon o fannau cysgodol a gorsafoedd ail-lenwi dŵr ar gael yno drwy gydol y dydd. A allem eich atgoffa i anfon y disgyblion yn eu dillad eu hunain ar gyfer y trip, ynghyd â phecyn cinio (os na chaiff ei archebu trwy’r ysgol), byrbrydau ac yn bwysicaf oll, potel ddŵr ar gyfer y diwrnod. Due to the forecast of extremely high temperatures we would like to give you the option to collect your child(ren) from school at 1pm tomorrow, Thursday 25th June.

Temperatures tend to build throughout the school day, so an earlier collection time will help pupils avoid the hottest part of the afternoon in school. If you choose to collect your child early, this absence will be recorded as an exceptional circumstance.

For families who are unable to change their plans, please be assured that school will remain open as normal on the Thursday until 3.15pm. We have made the decision to CANCEL after school athletics club due to the high temperatures forecast. Therefore there will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB Thursday 25/6/26. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, our pupils and staff health and wellbeing and safety is our priority.

To help pupils stay as comfortable as possible, we encourage pupils to wear light, loose fitting clothing to school or their PE kit. Please remember to send in their hats, sun cream and water bottles.

Thank you very much to the pupils from both schools for representing the Federation at the Wrexham Welsh Cluster Schools Concert last week.

We had a wonderful evening listening to pupils from across the cluster perform. The Federation pupils performed exceptionally well, and we are extremely proud of them all.

Our sincere thanks once again to the parents and carers for their support, and to the staff for all their hard work and commitment.

The warm weather will be continuing this week!

With the high temperatures expected, pupils may wear lightweight clothing to help them stay comfortable, provided all items comply with the school uniform policy.

We would like to remind all parents/carers to ensure children come to school wearing sunscreen and bring a water bottle and sun hat please.

Please remember to label all hats, water bottles, jumpers and cardigans with your child’s name.

Bydd gennym fwydlen 2 wythnos newydd yn dechrau ym mhob un o’n hysgolion cynradd o ddydd Llun 15/06/26.

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn cyflwyno deddfwriaeth newydd yn ymwneud â bwyd sy’n cael ei weini mewn ysgolion cynradd, a bydd yn orfodol i bob darparwr prydau ysgol gydymffurfio erbyn mis Hydref 2026.   Rydym wedi symud tuag at gydymffurfio â’n bwydlen newydd eisoes, trwy wneud nifer o newidiadau gofynnol.  Y prif newidiadau y mae angen i chi fod yn ymwybodol ohonynt o 15 Mehefin yw:

• Dim brechdanau ham ar gael, dim ond brechdanau caws neu tiwna ar ddydd Mawrth a dydd Iau.   Bydd cyfyngiad ar y nifer o gynhyrchion cig wedi’u prosesu y gallwn eu cynnig.

• Bydd bara yn 50:50, o ran y bara wedi’i sleisio a roliau byrgyrs, i gynyddu  ffibr i ddisgyblion.

Dear Parent / Guardian,

We will have a new 2-week menu starting in all of our primary schools from Monday 15/06/26.

Welsh Government are introducing new legislation covering food served in primary schools, and it will be compulsory for all school meal providers to be compliant by October 2026.  We have moved towards compliance already with our new menu, by making a number of necessary changes.  The main changes that you need to be aware of from 15th June are:

• No ham sandwiches available, only cheese or tuna sandwiches on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We will be limited to the number of processed meat products we can offer.

• Bread will be 50:50, sliced bread and burger baps, to increase fibre intake for pupils.

• Pasta will be wholewheat not white, again to increase fibre.

• Rice will be 50:50 brown and white.

• You will not be able to choose a “no vegetables” option when pre-ordering with ParentPay, we will have to serve 2 vegetables with every primary pupils’ meal under the new regulations.

• Fruit – tinned or fresh – will have to be served alongside every dessert choice.

We will still be legally obliged to provide safe, suitable meal options for pupils with allergies and special dietary requirements, including Avoidant / Restrictive Food Intake Disorders, however we will need confirmation from a suitably qualified professional, such as a GP or dietitian.

Waw what a busy week for some of the pupils from the valley in Anglesea last week! We would like to congratulate each and everyone one of the pupils who have been competing, you tried your very best and we are so very proud of you all, you were fantastic! We would like to thank all of the pupils, parents and families for their commitment and support once again, in all types of weather this year! We are very lucky as a federation to have such committed staff and we would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Eleri Owens, Mrs Bethan Jones, Miss Llio Davies and Mrs Meg Massey for all of their hard work teaching and supporting the pupils.
