Dear Parents/Guardians,
We will be continuing with our annual school trip to Chester Zoo on Friday 26 June as planned.
Although some weather forecasts are predicting cooler temperatures and light rain, it is still expected to be very warm. Therefore, we will not be spending as much time at the zoo as originally planned and will be returning to school earlier.
As a result, pupils will be back at school by the end of the normal school day at 3:15pm, not between 4:00pm and 4:30pm as stated in the original letter. We have contacted Chester Zoo, and they have reassured us that there are plenty of shaded areas and water refill stations available throughout the site. Please could we remind you to send pupils in their own clothes for the trip, along with:
- A packed lunch (unless one has been ordered through the school)
- Snacks
- A water bottle (essential)
Please also ensure that pupils wear suitable, comfortable footwear and light clothing, and bring sun cream and a hat.
As a federation, we will continue to follow Welsh Government guidance and WCBC advice in supporting our learners and staff during this period of extreme weather. The wellbeing and safety of everyone in our school community remains our highest priority.

Mi fyddwn yn parhau i fynd ar ein trip ysgol flynyddol i Sw Gaer ddydd Gwener 26/6 fel y cynlluniwyd. Er bod rhai rhagolygon tywydd yn rhagweld y bydd ychydig yn oerach a bydd gennym law ysgafn ar adegau, mae’n dal i addo bod yn gynnes felly ni fyddwn yn treulio cymaint o amser yno a gynlluniwyd, mi fyddwn yn dod yn ôl i’r ysgol ychydig yn gynharach.
Felly mi fydd y plant yn ôl yn yr ysgol erbyn diwedd y dydd (3.15yp) NID 4/4.30yp fel y cynlluniwyd yn wreiddiol. Rydym wedi cysylltu â Sŵ Caer ac maen nhw wedi ein sicrhau bod digon o fannau cysgodol a gorsafoedd ail-lenwi dŵr ar gael yno drwy gydol y dydd. A allem eich atgoffa i anfon y disgyblion yn eu dillad eu hunain ar gyfer y trip, ynghyd â phecyn cinio (os na chaiff ei archebu trwy’r ysgol), byrbrydau ac yn bwysicaf oll, potel ddŵr ar gyfer y diwrnod. Gwnewch yn siŵr bod ganddynt:
- Esgidiau addas/cyfforddus
- Dillad ysgafn
- Eli haul a het hefyd.
Fel ffederasiwn, byddwn yn parhau i ddilyn canllawiau Llywodraeth Cymru a chyngor gan CBSW wrth gefnogi ein dysgwyr a’n staff yn ystod y tywydd eithafol yma a sicrhau bod lles a diogelwch pawb yn hollbwysig. Os oes gennych unrhyw ymholiadau, mae croeso i chi gysylltu â ni yn yr ysgol.
